This is my 3rd year to participate in Paint the Town, and every year it gets better. There is a special light and lay of the land about Winters that seems to be very unique. The thing I find always amazing is the color of the hills to the west. It changes all day long: sometimes a soft violet, sometimes a deep strong blue-green-purple, and sometimes an incredible pearlescent azure that can be very evasive to a painter trying to capture just the right hue.
